Goblin Tools
FreeDifficulty: Easy
Last checked: 16 October 2026
What Is It, In Plain Words?
Goblin Tools is a set of simple, free AI tools on one web page. The best known is the Magic To-Do, which breaks a big job into small steps. Another, the Formalizer, rewrites a message to sound more polite, more direct or more formal.
It was made to help people who find planning or wording things hard, and you don't need an account.
What You Can Use It For
- Big jobs. Type "Clear out the garage" and it breaks it into a list of small, doable steps.
- Tricky messages. Paste in a blunt message and ask the Formalizer to make it more polite.
- Recipes. The Chef tool can turn a list of ingredients into a meal idea.
Getting Started Step By Step
On A Computer
- Open your web browser and go to goblin.tools. Check the address carefully, because look-alike sites exist.
- The Magic To-Do opens first. Type a task in the box, such as "Get ready for a hospital stay", and press Enter.
- Click the little magic wand next to the task to break it into smaller steps. Click again on any step to break it down further.
- Use the menu at the top to try the other tools, such as Formalizer or Chef.
Things To Try Typing
Type any of these into the Magic To-Do box, or use your own task.
- Get the house ready for the grandchildren staying for the weekend
- Sort out my late husband's paperwork
- Plan a trip to the GP about my knee
- (In Formalizer) Make this more polite: The noise from your dog every night has to stop.
What It Costs
The website is free, with no account needed. There are also small paid phone apps for iPhone and Android, which help pay for the free site.
We couldn't confirm the price of the phone apps on the official site when we checked on 16 October 2026, so we're not printing a figure. Please check the official site for the current price where you live.
