Remento

PaidDifficulty: Easy

Last checked: 16 October 2026

What Is It, In Plain Words?

Remento helps you record your life stories by talking. You answer questions out loud on your phone, and it turns your spoken answers into written stories, then into a printed hardback book.

Families often buy it as a gift so a parent or grandparent's memories are kept. Each story in the book can have a QR code that plays your voice.

What You Can Use It For

  • Family memories. Answer "What was your first job?" in your own words.
  • A keepsake book. After a year of stories, you get a printed book.
  • Hearing your voice. Grandchildren can scan a code in the book and hear you tell the story.

Getting Started Step By Step

On A Computer

  1. Open your web browser and go to remento.co. Check the address carefully, because look-alike sites exist.
  2. Read how it works and choose a plan. Often a family member buys it for you.

Recording A Story

  1. You'll get a question by text or email.
  2. Tap the link and press record. Talk as if you're telling a friend.
  3. Remento writes up your story. You or your family can read and edit it.
  4. Repeat each week. At the end, the stories go into a printed book.

Things To Try Typing

Examples of the kind of questions you'll be asked.

  1. Tell me about the house you grew up in.
  2. How did you meet your husband or wife?
  3. What was school like when you were young?
  4. What advice would you give your grandchildren?

What It Costs

Remento is a paid service, usually bought as a yearly package that includes a printed book.

We couldn't confirm the price of Remento on the official site when we checked on 16 October 2026, so we're not printing a figure. Please check the official site for the current price where you live.

Privacy And Safety

  • What it keeps. Your recordings and stories are stored in your account. Agree as a family who can see them before you start.
  • Think twice before sharing very private family matters, since others may read the book.
  • Never type passwords, PINs, bank or card numbers, your National Insurance number (UK) or Social Security number (USA).

Good Points And Watch-Outs

Good Points

  • No typing: you just talk.
  • Your real voice is kept for the family.
  • Large, simple buttons.

Watch-Outs
